About NeuraBloq

One problem, studied closely.

NeuraBloq is a US consultancy focused on one problem: production machine-learning systems built on Apache MXNet, a framework that moved to the Apache Attic in 2023 and no longer receives releases or security patches.

That focus is deliberate. MXNet had a real moment — it was Amazon's framework of choice, the foundation of GluonCV and GluonNLP, and the default in a generation of SageMaker deployments. Plenty of those systems still run, still serve predictions, and still matter to the businesses that own them. What they no longer have is a framework community behind them, and most ML consultancies would rather sell a greenfield project than untangle a frozen one.

What we do

We keep MXNet estates running safely and move them to maintained ground — assessment, model porting to PyTorch or ONNX, pipeline and serving migration, and containment for the systems that can't move yet. The common thread is verification: numerical-parity harnesses for ports, parallel runs for infrastructure, dated exit plans for anything left in place.

How we think about legacy ML

A frozen framework is an operational fact, not an embarrassment. The teams that adopted MXNet made a reasonable choice on the information they had; the framework losing its community was not their failure. We treat the systems with that respect — stabilize first, migrate deliberately, and never recommend a rewrite where a port will do or a port where retirement will do.

We work in both directions of the stack: fluent in MXNet and Gluon idioms because that's where the systems live today, and in PyTorch and the ONNX ecosystem because that's where they're going. The engineering judgment sits in the gap between the two — knowing which architectural differences are cosmetic and which ones silently change a model's behavior.

Working with us

Engagements are hourly time and materials with senior US engineers, as projects or staff augmentation, scoped through an initial conversation. If you have MXNet in production — whether you need a full exit or just an honest read on your exposure — get in touch.
